Pour info, l'Université d'Exeter (USA, New Hampshire) vient de publier
dans le journal scientifique à comité de lecture Remote Sensing,
une étude intitulée : "Une première estimation
des tendances mondiales des émissions de lumières nocturnes
révèle une accélération de la pollution lumineuse".
L'étude observe par données satellites allant de 1992 à 2017
une augmentation des émissions lumineuses sur la planète de 49%.
Mais estime l'augmentation réelle au sol autour 270%
et pouvant aller jusqu'à 400% dans certaines régions.
Elle attribue notamment cela à un effet rebond du passage aux LED :
autrement dit, les potentielles économies d'énergies permises
par cette nouvelle technologie ont été employées
pour éclairer davantage la nuit.
Les auteurs pensent que cela a exacerbé l'impact
sur les papillons de nuits et le déclin
de populations d'insectes en général.
Il s'agit d'une étude macroscopique portant sur la planète,
elle n'est donc pas directement transposable au cas de
Gentioux-Pigeroles, mais permet tout de même
de garder en tête qu'il faut faire attention aux effets rebonds
ici aussi.
